Boo Boo's And Popsicles

....a little scratch, crying begins..... ten minutes pass, then thirty, I try comforting, rocking her like a baby, try everything,  I believe its now been about forty five minutes.  Do you want a popsicle?  Wow!  Gotta love those sweets!  I love my little sweet drama Queen!   I love to see those frowns turn into happy smiles. My litte girl always asks me "Do I have a happy face now."  When she is upset she will cry and say
"Now I don't have a happy face!" and then when she is happy she will then anounce that she is now happy!  "I am happy now!"

Home Made Water Slide

Our girls love to play outside and playing with a new home made water slide adds a little more fun to a hot summer day. Daddy decided that it would be great to tape a garden hose to the top of the side and put the swimming pool at the bottom. The girls had a blast taking turns going down there new waterslide. We just love to hear there cute little squeals and laughter as they kept sliding down the slide into a pool of water. To hear that sweet sound of laughter and squeals and knowing that our little girls are having fun and enjoying life, knowing that they are happy is just music to our ears and is sweet happiness.

Summer Time Fun

Teaching her big sister how to spray water into the air so that she could dance in the rain.
Moments like this, when you get to play to your hearts content. So carefree, so happy, enjoying these hot summer afternoons, it makes us so happy just watching our two girls enjoying themselves and playing so happily.

Summer Fun

The essence of summer is catchy.  It makes for bright eyes, glowing tans or sunburns and smiles all around. Soaking in the sun, enjoying spending time together, is what summer memories are made of. Summertime brings the sweetest smiles on your faces. You both drive on fresh air and sunshine. Nothing beats the freedom of long summer days. We are just enjoying these summer days. Finally the sun is staying in the sky and hopefully summer is here to stay because we are all for it.  Here are some updated pictures of the girls just enjoying the summer days.

We had a great time playing at the resavoir for Fathers Day! Seeing the girls playing out in the water, seeing the constant smiles, it was rewarding just watching those two sweet girls. They had permanet smiles on there faces even though the water was ice cold. "No honey, mommy can't play in the water its too cold for mommy." The water was ice cold! But it did not stop them from having a great time.
I watch as Jaidyn plays outside. I watch as she picks up rock after rock and carries it to a pile of other rocks that she calls her rock collection. What are you doing out here” I asked her. “Collections,” She replies. She then continues. “It’s going to take a long long time.” “What’s going to take along time?” “Me, doing rock collections.” She then picks up a new rock and says “I need to put water on it. It looks like a pie.” She then gets a plastic bowl and goes into the bathroom moments later she comes out and hands me the bowl. “Can you put water in this?” “Yes” I then fill the bowl half way up with water and then I carried the bowl outside. She quickly puts the rock in the water. Why do you need a bowl of water?” “Because I just need a tub for it.” A tub for her rocks. I listened to Jaidyn as she played. At times she would stop and hold up rocks exclaiming that one is the daddy, one is the mommy, and one is the baby. The biggest being the daddy and down to the littlest which is the baby. Her imagination is limitless. I could listen to this sweet girl all day long and never tire of hearing her imagination soar.

Assignment #2

Think back when you were a child and describe the hopes and dreams that you had for the future. Describe every detail that you can remember. Or ask your children about their hopes and dreams. What they what to be when they grow up.

I do this every year and it is so cute to see the different things they want to be each and every year. My oldest has wanted to be a mother, teacher, police officer, designer and current a mother and an arcratecture and my youngest has wanted to be a dog, a castle, and current she doesn’t want to grow up because she wants to stay with me. I love recording there thoughts and its fun to see how each year is different.
Have an interview with your child. Here is an interview I gave my seven year old on what she wants to be when she grows up.

Mom-“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Alicia-“A mom” because, I get to take care of the kids, like feed them, cook dinner, tell them what to do.”
Mom-How many kids do you want?”
Alicia-“One,”
Mom-“Just One?”
Alicia-“I keep thinking of three,….okay I want three. What if I said one hundred, what if I said one thousand?”
Mom-“Why do you want three?”
Alicia-“So they can have friends.”
Mom-“What would you name your kids? Do you have names that you like?”
Alicia-“Girls-Anna, Zala, Alaina Boys- Brayden, Jake, John”
Mom-“How old do you want to be when you have kids?”
Alicia-“Nineteen, because it’s my second favorite number, my first favorite number is eleven.”
Mom-“Why do you like eleven?”
Alicia-“Because you look cute at eleven.”
Mom-“Why do you like nineteen?”
Alicia-“Because it is the highest number that I like.”
Mom-“What is your second choice of what you want to be when you grow up?”
Alicia-“Archetect”
Mom-“Why do you want to be an architect?”
Alicia-“Because I like art.”
Mom-“Why do you want to design houses?”
Alicia-“Because I like houses.”
Mom-“Do you want to design your own home?”
Alicia-“Yes, I think I will be a great one. I think I will be a great Architecture.”
Mom-“I know you will be too honey, you will be great at everything, a great mom, great architecture, great at everything!”

Assignment #1

Each week I will have a little assignment for you all to journal. I know that for me putting in to my pages a letter to my children or writing specific in my journaling makes my pages more sentimental and I know that when my children are older the will love reading about experience and specifics about themselves and their parents. I have assignments that you can put into a journal, or a scrapbook page hidden or visual.

Write a letter for your child to read as an adult. Include the letter in a hidden journaling pocket or in an album.

Recently my daughter Alicia had each family member choose a name from slips of paper and each family member had to write or make something for the person that they had chose. Daddy got Alicia and wrote a sweet letter about how much he loved and cared for her. When daddy read the letter to her you could see her face beaming with such happiness. She had carried that letter around with her for days. Just a sweet letter to your child does and will mean a lot to them.

Update

And yet another beautiful week. We are just adjusting to the no school and I love it. Summer has always been my favorite season. The many things that you could do in the summer is limitless. The weather is so refreshing. Stepping outside first thing in the morning and feeling the warmth from the sun hit your face and seeing all the green and yellow daisies that are by the hundreds that lay in the fields and that surround the sage brush, seeing the sky so blue and then feeling that nice breeze running through your hair. This is going to be a great week. Summer here we come.

Status Updates from the past few weekks....

Graduation-Wow another year has finished it makes me sad knowing that my little girl is growing up just to fast. This is her first grade program. She did so well at singing and dancing. Congratulations Issie my sweet baby girl!

Wish Berries-These little dandelions seeds are called Wish Berries in our family. Ever since Alicia was a baby she would call them Wish Berries. It is unknown how she came up with that name. Just yesterday I hear little Jaidyn our three year old calling them Wish Berries. Jaidyn is so fascinated by Wish Berries every time she sees one she will run and grab it and then scout around for more.

Park/Bike-So we took the girls to a near by park for a bike ride unfortunately there was no bike riding for little Jaidyn would rather run off to play on the equipment while mommy chased after her and daddy trying to pump up Alicia’s bike tire that was unfortunately flat. We still had fun as a family playing and picnicking at the park. It was a gorgeous day!
Flowers-I am a lucky mom! I get flowers on a regular basis. Jaidyn loves to pick her mommy flowers. "Here mommy these are for you!"

Sprinkler/Water Hose-Daddy got out the sprinkler. I think that Utah weather just might stay warm. Maybe!

The Sweet Days of Summer

There is nothing more wonderful then the sweet days of summer. So long as the temps are high and the sun is shining, you can find our two girls outside, after the daily sunscreen ordeal that is. Getting those “ticklish spots” is a real chore. One of our favorite summertime hangouts is simply spending the afternoon out in the backyard. All of the summertime toys come out….the swimming pool, the sandbox, the bubbles, the sidewalk chalk, and when it is really hot out nothing beats playing on the big waterfall slide, and the jump house, some other simple fun activities are the plain old waterslide, or the good old fashion sprinklers.
There’s something magical about the sunshine, which also gives new life to even the most ordinary everyday activities. I can’t even begin to count the hours that our girls spend outside swinging and sliding, exploring the outdoors, making gardens, having picnics, and playing in the water. There are so many activities that my girls come up with when they are outside. If it could be summer year round I think that my girls would enjoy that and I believe that mom and dad would too. Our summer days are full of many smiles.
