Snow..Its a strange thing...

It’s a strange thing… Snow when you are three and six it is the greatest thing in the world, when you are ten it’s still fun, but usually after a big snow storm. When you are twenty six, you hate it and dread it. The constant dressing and undressing, pulling and pushing, freezing and sweating, digging and undigging, layering and covering, truth be told though secretly every year when the first snow falls, we feel that childish delight. For a moment we are three and six again and think it’s the greatest thing in the world. To see the beautiful white fluffy snow fall from the sky and spread out through over the valley floor, to see everything change from greens, yellows, oranges and reds to magical white mist. One minute you see a light white cover over the valley and then the next minute as far as your eyes can see the world be pure white. What an amazing sight.
Have a happy winter!

We have a little tradition that is not always kept every night but at times before jumping into bed the girls go outside to look for the moon. It is fun to find where the moon would be in the sky. Our youngest daughter would say “I want to say goodnight to the moon, Shhhh, the moon is sleeping, you got to be quiet.” So that is when we started to say goodnight to the moon. I love to journal especially about my girls. I came across a cute conversation I had with my oldest daughter back on January 05, 2008 It reads:
Alicia- “The sun is hot and the moon is cold! I wish I could catch the moon and see if I was right.” If you go out in outer space you could touch it? Mom- “Why do you think the moon is cold?” Alicia-“Because outside is cold at bedtime.” Mom-“Did you know that sometimes you can see the moon in the day time, but it’s so light outside that it’s hard to see the moon. So do you think the moon is still cold?” Alicia-“Just a little bit cold.”

Winter

One of the first snow falls of the season. The snow started to melt so I told my self I better get out there and take a few pictures of my girls before it all melts. They were thrilled to go out. I loved watching the girls exploring and enjoying the cold, They loved running making tracks in the snow and making snow balls, there wasn’t enough snow for much else. My youngest kept asking for the sleds, I believe she is ready for winter fun.

Beauty of Autumn

With a cool breeze in the air and school in full swing, taking in all of the beautiful autumn colors, I am so grateful for every sweet moment. Watching our girls run around in the cool breeze, throwing leaves in the air, watching as they search the ground finding little acorns, and seeing the joy and laughter on their sweet little faces, seeing them all cozy warm in their cute sweaters. How lucky we are to have such wonderful little girls to share our love with. We are so grateful for all the good we have.

Through the eyes of a child

How I would love to see the world again through the eyes of my children. Everything is fresh, new and exciting; an adventure and a challenge. They learn from yesterday, not thinking of failure and problems, just the possibilities of building on what they've done tomorrow. They don't live for today - they live for the moment, soaking up everything around them, missing nothing, savoring the time they have now. They fill the hours, minutes and seconds with play, exploring and learning. For them, each day is a new day. Whatever they don't get to today they have plans for some other time. There is hope for tomorrow. Unexpected treasures and pleasures to be mined, examined and thrilled over. To be as happy as children, to be able to say its okay to a mistake, My children are the greatest thing that has ever happen to me. They are the ones that keep me happy. When times are not good I look to them, to see their sweet faces, their beautiful smiles, their sweet wonderful cute voices, the twinkle in their pretty green and blue eyes, the sweet sound of their laughter, when they smile and laugh it is one of the best moments in life. Their happiness is highly contagious, seeing them mother each brings tears to my eyes knowing that I have been blessed with the greatest. May they always enjoy each and every moment of their life. We love our girls! Their laughter, their smile, their sweetness everything about you two girls. You girls bring much joy into our home and into our lives. We love it when you are happy. That joy of yours is what makes us happy. When we are sad your sweet kindness, your sweet laughter, your happiness keeps us going. You teach us that life can be good. You girls make the happy part in our lives. We love you. This is our sweet girls having fun at a nearby park last week. I wouldn't let them play on the play equipment due to the H1N1 going around. But, they still enjoyed playing in the water, watching the ducks (Forgot the bread, spur of the moment trip to the park.) Enjoyed Moving trees (Hee, Hee, Hee) "Mom, I'm trying to save the park" My oldest explains as she is trying to move a branch the size of a tree that had fallen into the small stream. What a cutie! Picture in my gallery. We love to watch them explore and have fun! [More pictures of this trip in the gallery!

Halloween Costumes

Since it is October I will start by saying that this year we will be having a fairy princess and a puppy. We were very lucky to be able to find a puppy costume, for Jaidyn absolutely loves puppy. Its all puppy, puppy talk, puppy play, puppy bedtime, puppy everything. It is kind of funny because at this age for Alicia it was all puppy as well. Alicia wanted to be a mermaid this year for Halloween but for going and getting their costumes at almost the very last minute was a mistake in itself. So we had picked out a fairy princess. Just what she really is our sweet princess. A few days later I got into our Halloween storage and to my surprise I found the cutest two witch costumes that I had gotten in the past years. They are made so beautifully and so I decided to persway my girls into being these cute looking witches. I attempted to ask them if they wanted to be witches for Halloween and immediately their response was "no". I then asked them if they would try them on. I then put there outfits on and there they were the cutest little witches I ever did see. I watched as they stood looking at their selves in their bedroom mirror and I could see there smiles looking back at them. Seeing those smiles just said that they knew that they were the cutest little witches around. I want to get the cutest pictures of them stirring up their witches brew, with the big cauldron, seeing the neat affect of the smoky steam (dry ice) boiling over the top of the cauldron. Seeing there sweet smiles blossom over their beautiful faces. But my purswaying attempt to get them to be these two little witches just wasn't enough for they still wanted to be this little fairy princess and a puppy dog and for there happiness is above all else so I believe that this year for Halloween we will be having two happy kids a cuddly little puppy and a beautiful fairy princess.
